What is a Public Adjuster?

Public adjusters work exclusively for the policyholder, NOT the insurance company. A Public Adjuster is hired to protect the interests of the building owner (and/or manager) by making a comprehensive assessment of your damages, and getting you a maximum settlement in an expeditious manner.

Shouldn't I Just Assume The Insurance Company Will Take Care Of Me?

Staff Adjusters work for and are paid by the insurance company. They do NOT have your interests in mind. You need someone on your side presenting a detailed estimate to gain you the fair and equitable settlement you deserve. How do you know you are getting everything you are entitled to by your policy? Why Not Let A Contractor Handle My Claim?

In Texas, it is illegal for contractors to negotiate with the insurance company on your behalf. In addition, most contractors do not have the experience or expertise to negotiate on your behalf, especially when depreciation and co-insurance issues are involved. Many contractors low-bid projects in hopes of securing a job (and then change order you during construction). Our goal is negotiating the largest settlement so you can complete the repairs and/or reconstruction properly and completely.

Why Not Handle The Loss Myself?

Unlike a Public Adjuster, most policyholders do not have the time or expertise to properly assess and prepare an itemized damage report. Continental Adjusters has the extensive experience to properly analyze and support your claim. In turn, you are relieved of the burden of preparing a damage estimate, coordinating all the meeting with the insurance company and attending meetings. With this burden relieved you are able to continue to concentrate on your day-to-day activities. With commercial losses many companies or management groups do not have dedicated personnel with the time to properly handle a claim.

Will I Still Be Involved?

Yes. We work as your in-house claims department. In preparing estimates and inventories, we consult with you to put together a loss package before conferring with the insurance company. No final settlement will be made without your approval.

How Are You Paid?

We receive a small contingency fee based on the recovery amount only. Continental Adjusters has a time and cost investment in obtaining the best result possible.
